Postpartum Doula Support

Philadelphia postpartum doula

The postpartum period is a time of adjustment, healing, and bonding. As a postpartum doula, I provide hands-on, compassionate support to families as they transition into life with a newborn. Postpartum support may look like whatever the family might find supportive in the home or would help ease their transition. N+T provides care for the WHOLE family in the following ways:

  • Breast/chestfeeding/infant feeding support (referral to a lactation consultant if needed)
  • Referrals to community resources and evidence based information as needed and/or requested
  • Caring for your baby so you can rest
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assistance with after-birth healing (birth processing,  providing encouragement / affirmations, preparing sitz baths, etc.)
  • Organization of supplies and different living spaces
  • Support with basic newborn care (bathing, feeding, diapering, soothing)
  • Sibling support
  • Troubleshooting common challenges that occur during the postpartum period
  • Support in developing routines and systems
  • Meal prepping and planning
  • Accompaniment to appointments, support groups, shopping, etc (subject to doula availability)

Newborn Care Education Class ($75): Add a prenatal Newborn Care Education Class to your postpartum doula care package for a private personalized, supportive session that helps you feel confident and prepared for caring for your newborn in the early days at home.

We had the pleasure of working with Edoukou as our post partum doula for our second daughter, and she was amazing. Not only did she help us navigate the process with care and professionalism, but she also provided invaluable support with housework and keeping our toddler entertained, which kept us sane during a busy time. She was kind, responsive, and incredibly flexible with our changing needs. Having never used a doula before, we weren’t sure what to expect, but we’re so glad we chose Edoukou! - Noelle + Brian

We had the pleasure of spending our first few weeks postpartum with Edoukou and it was such a great experience! We quickly felt very comfortable and trusting of her and she made those first few weeks so much easier on us! She helped immensely around the house with food prep, laundry, and chores to help in my overall rest and recovery. She also helped give us rest by looking after our newborn while we napped! I couldn’t recommend her enough.-Catherine
